Parent Curriculum Guide
Sixth Grade Room 601 2014/2015
Mr. Dib
Philosophy – It is my belief that every student has the ability to learn and that my role as a teacher is to provide a safe and caring environment for that learning to take place. In order to make and continue a safe and caring environment, the following rules will be followed in the classroom: · No bullying
· Hands, feet, objects to yourself
· Use proper language
· Keep room clean and take care of materials
Consequences · Warning (student will be told not to repeat the behavior).
· Documentation of incident and filling in “Behavior Reflections” sheet.
· Sent down to either Mrs. Kelley or Mr. Metty.
In summary, poor behavior will not be tolerated in the classroom and in and around school. Your child is now a 6th grader and they will be held to a higher standard. I want them to know that they are the leaders and role models of Eisenhower Elementary.
Throughout the year, the 6th grade teachers will be reminding, practicing, and reinforcing these concepts to the students. Rewards can be earned through the use of the Fish Philosophy.
Communication Weekly evaluations will be sent home every Friday and must be signed by a parent/guardian. Evaluations include assessment of behavior, assignments and daily planner (Students will be keeping their own digital daily planner and be held responsible to have it filled out each day). Test grades, quiz grades, and assignments can be found in the Parent Portal. Phone calls and meetings will be held with parents as needed. Please feel free to contact me at school (7:30 – 8:30 AM and 3:30 – 4:00). You can also E-mail me at [email protected].
Progress reports will be sent home to students earning a “D” grade or lower.
